My deadbolt sticks and sometimes won't latch, so can you fix that without replacing the whole lock?
We diagnose what's binding: misaligned strike, worn bolt, spring or hardened lubricant, or a damaged cylinder. In most cases we make the repair on site, realigning, lubricating, adjusting, or swapping the worn part. If the mechanism is too far gone, we replace the defective component or the entire lock on the spot.
My key only turns partway and then stops, so is that something you can repair, or do I need a new lock?
We inspect the cylinder, key, and tailpiece for wear, bent pins, broken teeth, or debris. Often we can repair or rekey the cylinder and cut a fresh key on site so it turns smoothly. When the internal parts are damaged beyond serviceable condition, we replace the cylinder or lock right where the problem is.
A lock won't latch at all after a storm, do you fix the latch or will you put in a new one?
We examine the latch, bolt, strike plate alignment, and door fit to find why it's failing to engage. If the original latch or its components can be repaired or adjusted, we do that at your door. When the latch mechanism is irreparable, we remove and install a suitable replacement part while we're there.
