The buildings and the hardware
The mix of housing and other buildings in this area affects what we see at the lock face. Many houses still have older solid-wood doors with mortise or rim-style locks that need parts you can’t buy at a big-box store, while newer developments use cylindrical deadbolts and latchsets that are simple to swap. Multifamily buildings and small storefronts bring different needs: keyed-alike suites, commercial-grade exit hardware, and sometimes higher-traffic hardware that wears faster. That variety means we carry parts and experience for both vintage brass mortises and modern cylindrical locks, and we pick hardware based on how the door is used and what the frame will accept.
