The buildings and the hardware
The built environment in Chester County affects the hardware people use. Older wooden doors tend to have mortise locks or bulky deadbolts set into thick jambs; their trim, latch sizes, and reinforcement needs differ from newer pre-hung doors. Apartment buildings bring keyed-entry systems, cam locks for common areas, and sometimes nonstandard cylinders that require different tools. Storefronts call for cylinder replacements and panic hardware inspections after deliveries or break-ins. That variation means we bring a range of parts and know to check strike reinforcement, door thickness, and whether a cylinder will clear trim before cutting a key or swapping a lock.
