The buildings and the hardware
Halfway House properties tend to have a mix of older detached houses and smaller multiunit buildings, and that shows up in the locks. Older exterior doors often have mortise locks or heavy rim cylinders that need specific parts and a careful fit; many interior doors still use older knob locks with complete rekeying worth the effort. Multiunit entries and storefronts use commercial cylindrical deadbolts or panic hardware, which demands different tools and tamper-resistant fasteners. Knowing the common door and frame types in the neighborhood means we bring the right cylinders, long-throw deadbolts, and the bits for mortise work, so the job isn’t slowed by missing parts.
