What goes wrong
You called because a door or trunk won't open when it needs to. We handle stuck deadbolts, latches that have shifted after a storm, keys that snap off in the cylinder, and knobs or levers that no longer turn. On arrival we assess what has failed: cylinder binding, a tailpiece sheared inside the mechanism, a bent spindle, or a strike plate that has pulled away from the frame. We work to get access without destroying the door where possible, and we drive out from Havertown to jobs in Halfway House and nearby communities.

What the job involves
Once we can see the hardware, the work is practical and direct. If the cylinder is salvageable we remove the broken key pieces and reassemble the lock; if the cylinder or lockset is ruined we remove and fit a replacement or rekey the existing hardware. For deadbolts we check the bolt throw and the strike, fit a longer screw or a reinforced strike if the frame has split, and replace rotted or hollow trim pieces. We carry common keyed cylinders and replacement knobs so we can do most of the mechanical work on site.

Good to know
While we’re en route it helps if you gather a few things and clear the area we’ll work in. Keep the doorway clear of plants, toys, cars, and anything that might block a tool or ladder. Have photo ID and proof of ownership or tenancy ready; that’s standard for any locksmith job. If small children or pets are present, secure them in another room. If you’re dealing with a vehicle lockout, leave it unlocked if you can do so safely and have the registration ready.

Worth knowing
When we begin the job it’s useful if you can tell us what you know about the lock: did the key feel gritty before it broke, was the door hit, has a latch been sticking, or was the key bent? Photos of the exterior hardware or the broken key help us bring the right parts. We can cut new keys on site from many cylinders and replace worn tumblers, spindles, strikes, or thumbturns. We work across Montgomery County and nearby townships from our base in Havertown and can explain each repair option once we’ve inspected the lock in Halfway House.
