What people call about
People call about a mix of household and emergency lock problems. Common requests include emergency locksmith response for locked doors or broken keys in the lock, rekeying after a move, replacing or repairing deadbolts and latch assemblies, and installing keyed-alike systems for multiple doors. We handle mailbox and garage door lock issues, repair or replace worn cylinders, and fit higher-security cylinders or keypad replacements. For emergencies we also respond to door jambs split by forced entry and to jams in patio and sliding doors. The work is practical: get the door operating smoothly and secure with the right hardware for the application.

The buildings and the hardware
The built environment changes the hardware we bring. Older doors often have mortise locks or thick solid-wood stiles and need specific-sized cylinders, larger backsets, or reinforcement plates; newer construction usually takes cylindrical locks that are simpler to swap. Apartment and duplex entries can call for keyed-alike or master-key setups, while small commercial storefronts use heavier-duty latches, exit devices, or rim cylinders that need different tools and parts. Wooden frames, weather-swollen doors, and corroded strikes are common and frequently require adjusting the strike or fitting longer screws and reinforced plates, not just swapping the cylinder.

The car side
On the car side, calls cover lockouts, lost keys, broken key extraction, and full car key replacement. Older vehicles usually accept a cut metal key and a simple wafer or tumbler ignition; modern vehicles increasingly use transponder chips, proximity key fobs, and immobilizer systems that must be programmed to the vehicle’s computer. That means cutting keys on site is one part; the other is the diagnostic and programming equipment to pair a transponder or program a smart fob. We handle extracting snapped keys, making a new mechanical key, and programming or cloning transponder and proximity devices for many makes and models.

How we work
We work from the van; there is no shop to visit and every job takes place at the lock. When you call we’ll describe what we can do and tell you, honestly, how long it will be before we reach you rather than giving a promised arrival time. The van carries cylinders, deadbolts, key blanks, cutting and programming gear, strike plates and basic hardware so most jobs are completed on site. For anything that needs parts we don’t stock, we’ll explain the options and next steps clearly so you can decide how to proceed.
