What people call about
People call from Douglass Township for a mix of emergency and planned lock work: house lockouts, broken key extraction, deadbolt installs and repairs, mailbox and garage locks, rekeys after a move, and commercial storefront hardware fixes. We handle emergency locksmith situations as well as scheduled residential locksmith projects. On-site we swap cylinders, replace worn strike plates, repair latch alignment, and fit higher-security keyways when a property owner wants to limit who can copy keys. The work runs from simple single-cylinder deadbolts to replacing whole locksets and reinforcing door frames to stop repeated pry attempts.

The buildings and the hardware
The local building stock affects the hardware we bring and the jobs we see. Many homes have older doors and frames that require retrofit work: longer screws for strike plates, shims to square mortises, or adapting new cylindrical locks to pre-existing mortise pockets. Newer houses and multifamily buildings use standard bored locks and deadbolts, but apartment common doors and storefronts often have commercial-grade hardware like exit devices and keyed storefront cylinders that need different tools and parts. That variety means we keep both residential and commercial components on the van so we can match latch backsets, cylinder types, and strike configurations on the spot.
03
The car side
On cars, calls fall into a few clear categories: lockouts, lost or damaged keys, and electronic key issues. Modern vehicles commonly use transponder chips, proximity fobs, or push-button starts that require on-vehicle programming and rolling-code synchronization instead of only cutting a blade. We cut mechanical keys and program transponder keys and fobs, replace worn remotes, and bypass frozen locks or jammed linkages without forcing doors where possible. For older cars a cut-and-copy blade is often enough; for today’s models we bring the diagnostic and programming tools needed to make a replacement key work with the vehicle’s immobilizer and remote systems.

How we work
Tiger Locksmith is strictly mobile: there’s no shop or counter to visit, and every job is done at the door, the car, or the site of the lock. When you call about a lockout, a replacement key, or a residential or emergency locksmith need, we’ll tell you over the phone how soon we can respond based on where we’re working and what tools the job will require. The van carries cylinders, deadbolts, key blanks, fobs, programming tools, and the hardware needed for common retrofit and repair tasks, so most work is finished right where the lock is.
