The buildings and the hardware
Lower Pottsgrove’s built stock affects the hardware we see. A lot of residential work is on single-family homes and small multiunit buildings, so we deal with a mix of older mortise or surface-mounted locks and more recent bored cylindrical deadbolts. Older doors and frames often need longer screws, reinforced strike plates, or a different backset; that changes how we size and set a new lock. Storefronts and small commercial entrances bring different hardware: aluminum doors, commercial cylinders, and exit devices that require specific parts and fitting techniques. The job is often about matching new components to existing door geometry.
