What goes wrong
We work on the kinds of residential problems that lock up people’s plans: keys snapped in deadbolts, warped latch plates that catch, mortise locks with stripped tailpieces, and exterior handles whose linkage has come loose. In Sanatoga we see cylinder failures where the pins bind or the shear line shifts, and sliding door rollers that let the latch ride over the strike. We diagnose what failed, whether a part can be turned around with precise filing and pin replacement or whether a new cylinder or bolt is the right, durable fix.

What the job involves
When you call, we tell you how soon we can come and then drive out from Havertown with the parts and tools for the job rather than asking you to meet anywhere. Our vans carry replacement cylinders, keyed-alike pin kits, full deadbolt assemblies, strike reinforcements and a selection of screws and plates. We cut and code keys on-site to match your existing set, re-pin cylinders when you want the same key and swap out cores when you need a different keyway.

Good to know
On a typical residential visit we first test the latch and cylinder, then remove trim to inspect the tailpiece, cam and mounting screws. If the strike is loose or the sill has warped we set and secure a longer screw, fit a reinforced strike or replace the strike plate. We check the door for twist so the new hardware operates smoothly. If a deadbolt has a long throw we look at the reinforcing around the jamb; if a knob has a loose spindle we replace or tighten the connecting hardware so it won’t bind again.

Worth knowing
While you wait, have a form of ID and proof of residence ready if you’re changing locks or asking for rekeying, and set aside any existing keys you want matched. Tell us whether you want the new hardware keyed to one of your current keys or to have all cylinders keyed differently. If you live in Sanatoga or nearby Pottsgrove and have pets, put them in a separate room for everyone’s safety while we work. We keep the work area tidy and explain what we did before we leave.
