What goes wrong
Commercial locks in Telford tell you what’s wrong long before you call: sticky mortise cylinders, worn keyways that bind, rim cylinders with broken tails, punched or bent latch faces, or exit devices with sheared dogging screws. We come to your door from Havertown and assess the actual hardware (the backset, the bolt throw, whether the strike is reinforced or loose in the frame) then explain the mechanical fix. We focus on the part you can see and the linkage behind the door because that’s usually where the failure started.

What the job involves
Many commercial calls are about access control and master key systems that need attention rather than replacement. We inspect the keypad or card reader, confirm whether the strike or electric latch is drawing power, check wiring at the header and frame, and test the holding force of any electric strike or magnetic lock. For keying work we examine cylinder tails, pin stacks and cores for wear. If a panic bar won’t retract, we open the device, examine the cam and plunger, and replace hardware or parts so the door operates reliably.

Good to know
While we work, you should secure the area and assign one person on site to show us the affected doors and give building access codes or keys. If the work is for a suite or storefront, have a list of who needs keys or badge access and which doors should remain on the master keying plan. We may need someone to move stock or unlock an adjacent door so we can test latch engagement. If you’ve got as-built drawings or the original door hardware schedule, that speeds things up but it’s not required.

Worth knowing
We handle replacements and adjustments for exit devices, panic bars, door closers, strikes, mortise locks, rim locks, keypads and basic wired access panels. When we need to cut new keys or rekey a lock we bring a selection of cylinders and blanks and, if a cylinder has a broken tailpiece or a core is mushroomed, we swap it for a solid replacement. For larger projects we stage parts in our van and coordinate with building staff in Telford or nearby Souderton so doors are secure while we do the mechanical work.
