What goes wrong
We handle the usual residential lock problems you see in Telford: keys broken off in cylinders, deadbolts that won’t retract, warped latch plates, and door alignment that puts pressure on the bolt. We also deal with mailbox locks, garage entry doors, and older rim or mortise locks that have worn internal parts. When a key snaps we extract the broken bit, inspect the cylinder, and decide whether to re-pin the lock or replace the core. For seized or corroded hardware we remove and clean or fit a new, compatible cylinder.

What the job involves
When we arrive we work where the lock is, on your door or window hardware. We carry slot drivers, plug spinners, extractor sets, replacement cylinders, long-throw deadbolts, latch plates and a set of common backset options. We can rekey a lock by removing the cylinder, sorting the pins and cutting a new key on site, or we can fit a new deadbolt and reinforce the jamb with a longer strike and screws that bite into solid wood or the frame. We always test the bolt throw and door clearance before finishing.

Good to know
If you’re waiting for us, keep the area around the door clear and unlock any interior locks so we have room to work and to check the latch operation from both sides. If you’re unsure which key goes to which lock, collect all the house keys, the mailbox key, and any garage or shed keys into one place. If there’s a security system panel, let us know the disarm procedure so we can avoid triggering sensors. If pets are loose, securing them helps everyone move safely and keeps tools from getting underfoot.

Worth knowing
We drive out from Havertown and set up at the door to do the work; if you’re in Telford or nearby in Souderton or Hatfield Borough we bring parts and keys so most replacement cylinders and common deadbolts can be handled on site. If a job needs a carpenter first, like replacing a rotten frame, we come back and install the lock hardware to fit the repaired opening. We tell you what parts we plan to use and show the new key operation before we leave so you know how the door secures.
