What goes wrong
Locks in stores, offices, and warehouses fail differently than at homes. We see worn cylinder pins that stick, keyways chewed by heavy use, and exit devices that drag or fail to latch because the strike or mounting is bent. Panic bars can lose their trim or internal springs, and closers can stop cushioning the door. In Franconia Township we work on the actual hardware: removing stripped cylinders, rekeying cores, replacing worn latches, and fitting new strikes so a door locks cleanly and relatches every time.

What the job involves
When a commercial door won't lock, we check the whole assembly rather than guessing. We inspect the cylinder and tailpiece, the bolt or latch, the strike and its reinforcement, the door closer alignment, and any visible screws or mounting plates. For access control we test the keypad, wiring at the door, and the reader or electric strike. If a lock needs replacement we match a cylinder or mortise body to the existing preparation so the door doesn't need cutting or heavy modification.

Good to know
If you call us from a Franconia Township business, secure the area and keep staff clear of the door while we work. For a storefront or office with customers present we may ask you to cordon the entry and direct foot traffic to another entrance. Have building keys, keycard sets, or the existing master key hierarchy available if you want rekeying or master key changes. For access control jobs bring any wiring diagrams, power supply location, and the keypad or card reader model if you have them.

Worth knowing
We drive out from Havertown and bring the tools and parts commonly needed for commercial jobs: replacement cylinders, mortise locks, exit device components, reinforced strikes, and door closer kits. For master key systems we document the existing bitting and pinning, then make new cores on site when possible. If an electric strike or keypad is involved we check the power at the door and the strike's mounting. While you wait we explain the work we propose and the options for hardware so you can decide which parts to have installed.
