The buildings and the hardware
Mayfair’s housing stock means you’ll see both older wood doors with mortise locks and newer slab doors fitted with bored cylindrical locks. Rowhouses and small multiunit buildings bring through-the-wall mail slots, rim cylinders, and surface-mounted hardware that require different tools and replacement parts than a suburban entry. Where an apartment building uses a master-key system we can work on cylinder-level rekeys or add tenant-specific cores; for single-family doors we tend to recommend measured replacements and proper strike reinforcement. Different frames and thresholds change what size plate and screws are right, and we choose hardware to fit the existing cut.
