The buildings and the hardware
The buildings in this part of Philadelphia put specific demands on hardware. Many doors are original or older replacements, so you often find thinner stile rails, narrow backsets, and mortise pockets cut for old-style locks; others are modern apartment entry doors with bored cylindrical prep and metal frames requiring different fasteners. Single-family houses tend to have exterior wood doors requiring deeper-bore deadbolts and reinforced strikes; multiunit buildings often use keyed entry systems and stairwell doors where cylinder size and door thickness matter. That variety means we bring parts for mortise cylinders, standard deadbolts, latchwork, and a range of strike plates to match whatever the door requires.
