The buildings and the hardware
The age and variety of housing in Roxborough change the work we see. Many buildings still have original wood doors and older mortise locks that need careful teardown and measured parts; often the case with multi-family row houses converted into apartments. Newer apartment entries and storefronts use bored cylindrical deadbolts, lever-handles, and electronic keypads; those need different punch-outs and backset measurements. Frames can be out of square, hinges loose, or threshold gaps uneven, and that often means adjusting the strike and tuning latch travel rather than just swapping a cylinder. We pick hardware to match the door thickness and latch type.
