The buildings and the hardware
The local building stock affects the hardware we use and how we approach a job. Many homes here have older, solid wood doors and heavier frames that still take traditional mortise or rim locks; multiunit buildings often keep legacy latch and cylinder combinations that don’t match modern off-the-shelf deadbolts. Storefronts and light commercial entries frequently use metal frames and surface-mounted panic devices, which change fastener choices and strike reinforcement. That means we carry a range of cylinders, escutcheons, mortise pieces and conversion kits to adapt new security hardware to older preparations without having to replace entire doors.
