What goes wrong
Commercial doors in Darby fail for ordinary mechanical reasons: worn cylinder pins that shear, mortise locks with broken levers, latch bolts that no longer throw fully, or strikes that have pulled away from the frame. We remove the lock, inspect the bolt work and the strike, and decide whether to replace the cylinder, rebuild the mortise, or straighten and reinforce the frame. If a key won’t turn we check the plug and the tailpiece for damage and the cam alignment. We carry common commercial cylinders, heavy-duty deadbolts, and replacement parts for exit devices.

What the job involves
Many commercial jobs involve exit devices and door closers that don’t work together. We check the device, the dogging, the center case, and the top-of-door and stile fastenings, then replace or repair parts as needed. For access control issues we diagnose the latch interface, the electric strike wiring, and the keypad or card reader connection; we can swap in a new strike or repair the power feed. While we drive out from Havertown we bring the hand tools and parts to make the repair on site whenever the hardware allows.

Good to know
If you’re waiting for us, secure the area and keep staff clear of a door that’s been compromised. For an electric strike problem, leave the circuit de-energized if you can and mark the door out of service. For a broken key or jammed cylinder, keep the key blank or the broken fragment; we use it to match cuts and determine how to extract or duplicate. Have any master key lists, keyway profiles, or door numbers ready; we read the cuts and labels and confirm the correct cylinder or keyway before we cut or install.

Worth knowing
For planned work (rekeying, master keying, or swapping out hardware) prepare a list of doors, which keys should open which doors, and any restricted keys you want to maintain. We install new cylinders, pinned cores, and master key systems on site, and we fit reinforced strikes, long-throw deadbolts, or weather-resistant hardware when the door needs it. If you’re in nearby Colwyn or Southwest Philadelphia and need a follow-up, we return to the same address rather than asking you to come anywhere; every job happens where the lock is.
