The buildings and the hardware
The building stock in this area tends to affect the hardware we see. Older single-family houses often have solid wood doors with deep bore holes, mortise locks, and heavy brass or steel hardware that can be disassembled and repaired. Small apartment buildings and storefronts more commonly use thin, stamped metal doors, hollow-core units, and cylindrical locks or surface-mounted exit devices that wear differently and need different fasteners. That variety means we carry a broad set of parts: longer screws and reinforced strike plates for wood jambs, replacement cylinders that fit narrow stile metal doors, and a selection of latch types so we can match the original hardware.
