The buildings and the hardware
The local housing mix affects the locks you see. Many doors are older wood or metal frames with mortise or surface-mounted locks; those require different tools and replacement parts than newer bored cylindrical locks. Multi-family buildings tend to use simpler keyed-alike systems or mailbox locks, while single-family houses often have deadbolts and handle sets that show wear on the latch faces and strikes. Storefronts and small commercial entries usually use heavier-duty exit devices or rim locks. That variety means we bring pin kits, replacement cylinders, mortise hardware, and a range of strike plates to match the existing door condition.
