What goes wrong
Locked keys, broken keys, dead fobs and jammed latches are the common reasons people call us for a car lockout in Sharon Hill. Mechanical problems show up as a frozen cylinder, a bent key that won’t turn, or a linkage that has shifted and won’t lift the lock. Modern lockouts also come from electronics: a fob that won’t send a signal because of a bad battery or a vehicle immobilizer that needs a wake-up. We describe the problem plainly, because the fix depends on whether the issue is metal, plastic or electronics.

What the job involves
When we come to a vehicle we first verify ownership and then inspect the door, lock cylinder, trunk and ignition. We aim to use non-destructive entry techniques where the hardware allows: wedges and long-reach tools to manipulate the lock linkage, picks for traditional pin-and-tumbler cylinders, and specialty extractors for broken key fragments. For trunks with released latches we use access through rear seats if the design permits. We drive out from Havertown and bring the tools and blank keys commonly needed for on-the-spot work.

Good to know
Have your photo ID and the vehicle registration or title ready; if you have the spare key, key code, or the fob’s last-known behavior, tell us that up front. Avoid forcing locks or trying DIY entry with screwdrivers; that often causes more damage. If an alarm is active, indicate that to us so we can take precautions before we touch the doors or electronics.

Worth knowing
What to gather before we arrive: a valid ID matching the registration, the vehicle identification number from the dash or documents, and any spare key or broken key pieces you kept. If you have the remote or fob, bring it along even if it doesn’t work; sometimes a battery or a cleaned contact will revive it. We carry blanks and basic programming tools for many remotes and can cut and program replacements on site when the vehicle’s system allows. If you’re in Sharon Hill or nearby Collingdale, call and tell us the make, model and whether the problem is mechanical or electronic.
