What goes wrong
We work on the kinds of problems homeowners call about most: deadbolts that won't turn because the tailpiece is sheared, knobs and levers that wobble loose from stripped screws, sliding-door rollers that bind, and mailbox or garage locks jammed with corrosion. We see cylinders that are worn so keys slip, and strikes that have pulled away from the jamb. In Upland or nearby, we assess what failed (the cylinder, the cam, the bolt, the strike) then recommend repair or replacement based on the part that’s actually broken.

What the job involves
When we arrive at a house we bring the tools and parts to do the job on site. We carry replacement cylinders, mortise and cylindrical locks, deadbolts, reinforced strikes, and the machines to rekey or cut new keys. We can remove a broken key fragment from a lock, re-pin a cylinder to match a new key, or fit a new deadbolt and align the strike so the bolt seats smoothly. We work on wooden, metal and composite doors, and we check the latch and strike alignment before we leave.

Good to know
While we are en route, customers should gather the information that speeds the work: which door is affected, whether it’s a knob, lever, mortise, or deadbolt, and if the key still works at all. If there are copies of the key in the home, have them separated so we can test the original and copies. Have proof of ownership or residency ready if entry is required; if you’re outside, let us know who has a spare key inside. We travel from Havertown and will tell you honestly how soon we can be there.

Worth knowing
For preventive or upgrade work we explain the physical differences that matter: longer throws on deadbolts, thicker bolts, forged steel latches, and reinforced strikes that distribute force across the jamb. We suggest keeping a tested working key on a designated spot inside the house and a spare with someone trusted, and we can rekey multiple locks so one key operates them all. If you live in Upland or nearby Parkside or Chester Township, we’ll talk through the specific hardware that matches your door and frame before replacing anything so the fix fits the actual problem.
