What goes wrong
Locksets stick, cylinders shear, and deadbolts get pushed out of alignment; those are the common calls we handle in Parkside. We work on knobsets, lever handles, mortise locks, rim cylinders, and tubular deadbolts, identifying whether the problem is worn pins, a broken tailpiece, or a misaligned strike. If a key breaks off, we extract the fragment and inspect the cylinder for scoring. For doors that were kicked or warped, we check the jamb and replace or reinforce the strike and latch assembly so the bolt seats cleanly.

What the job involves
When you call, we drive out from Havertown in a fully equipped van; we don't meet at a shop. We carry a range of cylinders, key blanks, tubular and mortise hardware, replacement knobs and levers, and strike plates so we can complete most residential jobs on site. We cut keys, rekey cylinders to new keys, and replace or re-pin cores. For installations we use screws long enough to reach framing, and where needed we fit a reinforced strike or longer-throw deadbolt to improve mechanical engagement.

Good to know
While you wait, the safest thing to do is stay visible at the door and have one responsible adult with ID and proof of residency or ownership ready. If pets are loose, secure them so we can work without distractions. Clear the immediate work area of objects that could fall or block hinges. If you have a spare key, have it available; if not, tell us what kind of key blank you used or whether the lock has a patent head. If the door is damaged, move things out of the way so we can access the jamb and strike.

Worth knowing
We handle rekeying when someone moves in or loses a key, upgrade installs when homeowners want a heavier bolt or reinforced frame, and emergency entry when doors are locked with the key inside. For multiple locks on a property we can key them alike so one key works several locks, or master key systems for different access levels. We work throughout Parkside and nearby towns like Brookhaven, and we explain the work and parts we use before we start so you know what the repair or replacement involves.
