What goes wrong
We work on commercial doors that get the most use: metal storefront doors, hollow metal fire doors, aluminum-framed glass units and heavy service doors. The usual problems are worn cylinder pins that bind, mortise locks with broken levers, exit devices whose latches no longer retract cleanly, and strikes that have ripped out of the jamb. When a keypad fails we check the battery, wiring and the strike load. We travel from Havertown and bring the hand tools, replacement cylinders, trim, drives and punches needed to repair or replace the failing parts on site.

What the job involves
A typical commercial repair starts with a quick inspection of the door, latch, strike and mounting hardware so we can identify what’s failed and what must be removed. We disassemble trim and routes, pin and code cylinders, and measure backset, door thickness and screw patterns so replacement hardware fits. For access control work we test the wiring, power supply and relay before replacing a keypad or electric strike. If an exit device is sticking we remove it, check the crossbar and dogging mechanism and replace cams, springs or latches as required.

Good to know
While we are working, customers in Parkside often secure a secondary exit or post a temporary sign explaining the door is under repair. For businesses with staff on site it helps if someone can hold keys, access cards or wiring diagrams and direct traffic around the work area. If you have a service panel key, master key or cabinet with spare parts please have those ready. For access control service, have the system administrator on hand or reachable so we can confirm user lists and code changes before we reassemble hardware.

Worth knowing
We install and repair exit devices, panic bars, door closers, reinforced strikes, electric strikes, mortise locks, cylindrical deadbolts, keypads and basic access control panels. For master key work we remove cylinders and re-pin cores to the new hierarchy and label keys so replacements are straightforward. For door closer adjustments we check arm geometry, spring tension and backcheck to eliminate slamming or dragging. We carry common replacement parts and fasteners and, when retrofit is needed, we lay out the cut pattern and fit the new hardware to the existing door and frame on site.
