What goes wrong
We work on storefronts, offices, warehouses and multi-tenant doors across Chester Township and the surrounding area. Common calls are broken key extraction from cylinder locks, jammed mortise locks, worn knob and lever hardware, broken exit device components, and door closers that no longer control swing. We inspect the lockset, the latch and the strike, and check the door to see whether the frame or hinge is the cause. We describe what needs replacing and why: a worn tailpiece, a crooked faceplate, a broken keeper, or a short throw that won’t latch cleanly.

What the job involves
When we handle commercial keyed systems we look at the whole assembly: cylinders, cores, master keying, and the interaction with electric strikes and access control panels. If a keypad or card reader fails we test power, wiring, and the lock’s actuator, and we trace whether the problem sits in the lock or in the wireless or wired controller. For exit devices and panic bars we remove the trim to see stripped screws, bent rods, or broken latches and decide whether repair or replacement of the device, strike plate, or reinforcing plate is the practical next step.

Good to know
While we work you can secure the area and keep employees or customers away from the door being serviced; that keeps the work area safe and lets us focus. If you have a facilities manager, building superintendent, or an on-site key control file, have that person meet us and point out any master key documentation, key tags, or wiring diagrams for access control. We drive out from Havertown with the tools and parts we commonly use; having the door propped or a clear pathway to the lock and frame speeds up the job by avoiding extra handling.

Worth knowing
For larger projects we inventory existing hardware: exit devices, door closers, heavy-duty cylindrical locks, mortise locks, electric strikes, keypads, and any panic hardware. We record what backs up to what (cylinder types, cam orientation, strike reinforcement) and provide a clear plan for staged work so operations can continue with minimal disruption. In Chester Township shops or offices where multiple doors share one system, we note core changes and keying differences so replacements fit the system already in place. If you’re in nearby Brookhaven or a neighboring community, we handle the same hardware and same kind of retrofit work.
