What goes wrong
We handle the common failures that turn a front door into a problem: broken deadbolts with shredded bolt ends, latches with bent tongues, cylinders that spin in the face of the knob, and keyways clogged with debris. We take the lock apart on site, inspect the cylinder, tailpiece and cam, and replace worn pins or the whole cylinder if tumblers are corroded. For doors with reinforced strikes or long-throw bolts we check alignment and the frame for splitting or loose screws before refitting hardware so the bolt operates smoothly.

What the job involves
For lockouts we use non-destructive entry wherever possible: pick, rake, or use tools that replicate the key profile. If the cylinder is damaged or the key breaks off, we extract the fragment and rekey or replace the cylinder depending on what the mechanism needs. If your entry has a multi-point latch or a mortise lock we bring the appropriate tools and replacement parts. We drive out from Havertown and carry common cylinders, deadbolts, knobsets and mortise components so we can complete most jobs where the lock is.

Good to know
While you wait at the property please have identification and proof of residence ready so we can confirm authorization to work on the locks. If you have the key, keep it available and tell us any history: did the key stick, was the door swollen, or did the bolt strike a split frame? If you can, clear space around the door and move pets away from the work area. When you call we tell you how soon we can come and we’ll ask whether there are stairs, a gate code, or anything that affects access.

Worth knowing
If you’re changing keys after a move or want to simplify your keying, we rekey cylinders to a single key or pin different locks to match an existing key. We can replace cylinders to accept restricted blanks, install reinforced strikes and longer throw deadbolts, and fit bump-resistant or high-security keyways when the hardware needs it. For Evansburg homeowners concerned about an old lock or a wobbly knob, we assess the door edge, lockset wear and strike condition and explain the repair or replacement options in straightforward terms, including what parts we’ll use.
