What goes wrong
Houses in Conshohocken send the same problems: cylinders that bind after years of dirt and humidity, keys that snap off in a worn pin stack, deadbolts that won’t throw because the door has sagged, and electronic locks with drained batteries or corrupted programming. We drive out from Havertown with common cylinders, replacement deadbolts, and key blanks. When you call we tell you when we can come. We work on wooden and metal doors, inswing and outswing, sliding glass locks and paneled entries, and we aim to match the hardware to what’s already on the door where that makes sense.

What the job involves
The job starts with an inspection so we can see the door fit, the strike cut, and the cylinder type. We may take the cylinder out to inspect the pin stack, extract a broken key with picks or an extractor, or remove the lock to fit a new one. If the latch is worn we’ll plan for a longer throw bolt or a reinforced strike to keep the door from creeping open. For electronic deadbolts we check batteries and wiring and, if needed, replace the control module and reprogram the keypad on site.

Good to know
While we’re on our way it helps if you clear a path to the lock and open any inner doors so we can work without moving furniture. Have the key ring you usually use, and if you have spare keys, bring them out; the blanks save us cutting time when we’re there. If you rent, contact the landlord or property manager before we start so we have authorization to change cylinders or replace hardware. Keep children and pets in another room for safety while we use picks, drills, and cutting tools.

Worth knowing
After the work we test the lock through multiple cycles and inspect the strike and door edge for binding. We can rekey a set so one key works all exterior doors, cut multiple copies on site, or hand over new cylinders and show you how the thumbturn and exterior key interact. If you have a model number from the old lock, or a photo of the door edge and strike, that information helps us bring the right parts when we come to Conshohocken or nearby Plymouth Township and Bridgeport. We leave the job with the door operating smoothly.
