What goes wrong
Locks fail in predictable ways: a key snaps off in a cylinder, a deadbolt binds and won't retract, a latch gets forced out of alignment, or an electronic lock loses power and locks out its user. We handle house, apartment, business and vehicle lock emergencies in South Philadelphia and the surrounding area. When a door is swollen, a strike is bent, or a mortise lock jams, we focus on what to do to get you back in without creating extra damage to the door or frame.

What the job involves
On arrival we assess the mechanism visually and by feel, then choose the least destructive route: pick the cylinder, extract the broken key, remove a damaged cylinder for an on-site swap, or replace a worn latch or heavy-duty deadbolt. We bring a range of solid, forged cylinders, tubular and rim locks, reinforced strikes and replacement thumbturns so we can often complete the repair at the door. We drive out from Havertown and work where the lock is, with parts and tools ready to match common hardware.

Good to know
While you wait, clear the immediate area and make sure everyone is safe and out of traffic if the door opens onto a busy sidewalk. If you’re in an apartment or business, have proof of occupancy or ownership handy and, if applicable, the landlord’s permission or the property manager’s contact information. For vehicles, keep registration and photo ID accessible and don’t force attempts to open the door yourself; that can push a broken key or bend a regulator. We’ll ask a few verification questions on the phone so we can bring appropriate parts.

Worth knowing
Before we get there, gather any keys you still have, a key code or original paperwork if you have a replacement cylinder number, and the make, model and year of a vehicle if the emergency involves a car. Photos of the damaged hardware on your phone speed up our part selection, and noting whether the lock has a reinforced strike, long throw deadbolt, or a rim cylinder is useful information. We serve South Philadelphia and nearby areas like Queen Village; call us and we’ll tell you how soon we can come and what to expect when we arrive.
