What goes wrong
We handle the same emergencies you see a lot: keys broken off in a cylinder, a deadbolt that won’t retract, a knob that spins without engaging the latch, a latch or strike ripped out of the frame, or an electronic lock that lost power or refuses its code. In Narberth we get calls when people are locked out of houses, apartments and cars, and when a key shears while turning. We work on solid deadbolts, tubular latches, mortise locks, padlocks and the small electromechanical actuators on newer entry systems.

What the job involves
When we arrive we take stock of what’s actually happening and pick the safest, least destructive approach. We start with non-destructive entry if possible: picking, bypassing the latch, or manipulating the mechanism. If a cylinder is cracked or the key is wedged, we extract and remove it and fit a temporary or replacement cylinder. For severely damaged hardware we remove the lock and replace it, fitting a reinforced strike or longer-throw deadbolt if that’s what the door needs. We drive out from Havertown with the tools and common parts for this work.

Good to know
While you wait, keep yourself and anyone with you safe and out of the weather if that matters, and keep pets and children away from the door. Have an ID ready so we can confirm you have authority to access the property; if you’re calling for a rental, have the lease or landlord contact ready. Check for any spare key you might have left elsewhere, and tell us whether the lock is standard cylinder, mortise, keypad, or a multipoint bolt so we can bring the right parts. We’ll tell you how soon we can come when you call.
04
Worth knowing
To speed the job along, have your photo ID, proof of tenancy or ownership if applicable, and any existing keys or fobs you still have. Note the door handing, whether it’s metal or wood, and whether the frame has a reinforced strike plate or needs one. If it’s an electronic lock, note the model or any battery access; for a garage or vehicle, tell us the make and whether there’s an aftermarket keypad. We work across the area including Narberth and nearby towns such as Merion and we bring parts for common lock types.
