What goes wrong
Most emergencies start with something mechanical failing under stress: a house deadbolt with the tailpiece sheared, a cylinder that spins in the faceplate, a key snapped off in a mortise lock, or a latch jammed by a swollen door. We see jams caused by long-throw bolts hitting a warped stop, flat keys worn thin until teeth disappear, and keypad modules that lose power or stop sending a pulse to the strike. We’ve been working on locks for more than 13 years, and we handle the hardware itself (cylinders, bolts, strikes, knobs and levers) not abstract guarantees.

What the job involves
When we get to the site we do a quick inspection and explain the options. We try non-destructive entry first: tension and pick where the cylinder will allow, bypass latchwork if the strike and gap let us, or use an impression cut for a broken key. If the cylinder is ruined we remove it and fit a replacement, rekey the lock or fit a new deadbolt with a reinforced strike. On vehicles we extract broken blades, cut a metal key and program fobs when the system and keys on hand permit. We will tell you honestly how soon we can come when you call.

Good to know
While you wait keep anyone who shouldn’t be near the door back and have your ID and proof of ownership ready. If it’s a vehicle, have the registration or title on hand and any existing key fobs or remote heads where you can see them. Don’t force doors or windows yourself; pry marks and broken hardware make repairs more complicated. Tell us what you can about the lock type (thumbturn, rim cylinder, mortise, tubular latch, or an electronic keypad); that saves time once we arrive.

Worth knowing
We work across Marlborough Township and the surrounding area from our base in Havertown, so expect us to travel to the job rather than meet at a shop. Have copies of any spare keys, know where accessory deadbolts or security plates are mounted, and if a safe or keypad is involved tell us the model or bring any manuals you kept. If you’re near Pennsburg or other nearby towns be ready to show proof of ownership for vehicle or property and point out which entrance you want us to work on so we can get straight to the mechanical problem.
