What goes wrong
A snapped key in the cylinder, a jammed deadbolt that won’t turn, a hinge bolt that shears out under a kicked door; these are the kinds of emergency calls we handle. We work on residential and vehicle locks as well as small commercial doors: extracting broken keys, opening stuck cylinders, bypassing simple latchwork and, when needed, cutting and fitting a replacement cylinder or deadbolt. In Green Lane and nearby townships we respond from Havertown with a fully equipped van so the work happens where the lock is.

What the job involves
When we arrive we first do a quick assessment of the hardware: the type of cylinder, whether the bolt is a long throw or short latch, whether the strike is reinforced, and what parts of the door or frame have failed. We aim to preserve the existing lock where possible by picking or manipulating the mechanism rather than drilling. If the cylinder is compromised we can remove it and fit a new one and rekey or supply keys cut on site. For cars we extract broken blades and make replacements from the lock.

Good to know
While you’re waiting it helps to think through access and safety. If you’re locked out stay in a safe location off the street or in a neighbor’s house; secure pets and valuables so they aren’t underfoot. Check for spare keys or recent work orders for the door, and note any odd noises or how the problem began. If the issue is a jammed door, remove curtains or rugs that could tangle with tools. We’ll tell you what we need when we speak by phone so you can prepare.

Worth knowing
Have ready any keys you still possess, the make and model of the vehicle if it’s an automotive call and the VIN if you know it, and photo ID to show ownership. For doors, note the door material, whether the jamb has visible cracks or splits, and what kind of cylinder or hardware is currently fitted if you can see it. Also have a payment method available. If you’re in Green Lane, Marlborough Township, Upper Frederick Township or Red Hill we’ll come out from Havertown and work at the lock rather than asking you to meet somewhere.
