What goes wrong
Keys break, bolts jam, and cylinders seize at the worst times. In an emergency we handle snapped keys in cylinders, locks with bent or missing tails on deadbolts, warped jambs that prevent a latch from seating, and keypads that stop responding after moisture or power faults. If a tenant or owner is locked out, we use non-destructive entry techniques where possible (pick, shim, or use lock bypass tools), and when parts are badly damaged we remove and replace the cylinder, deadbolt, or latch mechanism on site.

What the job involves
When you call from Upper Salford Township we take the facts you can give: whether the key broke off, whether the door is closed but not locked, which side the thumbturn is on, and whether any alarm is armed. That lets us bring the right parts. We drive out from Havertown with a selection of cylinders, deadbolts, latch assemblies, and key blanks so we can often repair or replace hardware during the visit. If the lock is electronic, we bring batteries, programming tools, and replacement modules.

Good to know
While you wait, the safest thing is to stay in a secure spot and keep identification ready so we can verify property access. If you’re with children or pets, move them to a room with a working lock and a phone. Clear the area around the door so we can set out our tools if needed and so you don’t risk tripping over them. If there’s broken glass or a splintered door edge, tape or board the opening after we make entry to prevent weather or wildlife getting in until a proper repair is fitted.

Worth knowing
On site we assess the lock and door together: a solid, forged deadbolt with a long throw needs a matching reinforced strike and longer screws if the bolt no longer aligns; a thin, stamped latch or a hollow-core door often needs a different approach. For electronic locks we check battery contacts, wiring, and the control board before replacing parts or reprogramming. We can rekey cylinders, cut new keys from blanks, and fit a new deadbolt or reinforced strike so the entry functions correctly. When you’re in Upper Salford Township or nearby Spring Mount and need the lock made secure again, we handle the mechanical work and the practical steps that follow.
