What goes wrong
Commercial doors and hardware in offices, storefronts and warehouses fail in predictable ways: a cylinder jams from dirt and heavy use, a mortise mechanism breaks, an exit device slams out of alignment, or a keypad stops registering codes. We cut into the job where the lock sits and inspect the bolt, strike, latch and mounting. For electronic systems we check power, wiring and the controller before swapping parts. In West Grove we see a lot of worn cylinders and loose strikes; we carry common replacements and parts and drive out from Havertown when a site call is needed.

What the job involves
When a panic bar or exit device is sticking the fix can be mechanical or the door hardware may need adjusting. We remove trim, test the tailpiece and cam, and replace broken levers or dogging components when necessary. For door closers we look at arm geometry and fluid seals, and for reinforced strikes we check frame alignment and fastener integrity. With access control and keypads we verify the reader, power supply and backup battery and replace only the failed components unless the client asks for a broader upgrade.

Good to know
If you call us from West Grove, please keep the area around the affected door clear and make sure anyone with building or tenant access is available to verify identity for keying or code updates. We will ask you for the door type, whether it is wood, metal or hollow metal, if the lock is cylindrical, mortise or rim, and whether the hardware is surface-mounted or inset. Having that information and a spare key or the original code, if available, speeds the diagnosis. For larger door groups or a master key system bring the building key schedule or tell us how the current system is organized.

Worth knowing
Commercial work sometimes requires cutting new keys, rekeying cylinders, installing a new strike or replacing a lock body, and often involves drilling out seized cylinders or changing the core in a master system. We can add keypad controllers, wire an electric strike, swap a magnetic lock or reconfigure a master key using pinning and stamping methods. While we handle the mechanical and electronic details on site we rely on clear direction from the building owner or manager about access levels and which keys or codes to keep active. We travel from Havertown and work across Chester County and nearby townships including London Grove Township and Avondale when needed.
