What goes wrong
We work on commercial doors and hardware that get the most wear: heavy metal doors, glass storefronts on metal frames, exit devices, panic bars and reinforced strikes. What usually fails is the moving part: a latch that has sheared, a pivot that’s worn, or a strike plate that has pulled loose from rotten framing. We cut and fit new bolts and strikes, rebuild exit devices, adjust latch throws and replace worn rollers in door closers. We drive out from Havertown and bring the tools and replacement parts a business job requires.

What the job involves
When a keypad or an access control reader stops responding it’s often an electrical issue, loose wiring, a dead backup battery, or a corroded terminal. For mechanical master key systems common problems include keys that bind in a cylinder, pins that have dropped, or a cylinder that has been drilled out. We trace wiring back to the controller when needed, swap dead batteries, re-pin cylinders to a master map and replace badly worn cores. If you’re in Toughkenamon, we’ll explain the needed repairs and what the hardware will do after we fix it.

Good to know
If you call because a door won’t latch or an exit device won’t retract, move people away from the doorway and secure alternate exits if available. For a failed lock on a storefront, keeping customers off the glass and out of the door opening reduces risk while we work. We’ll also want you to designate someone with authority to approve the repair and to show building access. When you call, we tell you how soon we can come and what to expect when we arrive; otherwise, hand us a key, badge or access code if one exists and tell us about any recent door work.

Worth knowing
Have proof of business ownership or a signed authorization ready for any keying, rekeying or system changes so we can make changes to master key maps or access lists. Have spare keys or the existing master key on hand if you need matching; if not, tell us what doors must remain keyed the same. For electronic systems, note model numbers from the controller or keypad and whether there is a backup battery. In Toughkenamon and nearby towns like Kennett Square, we work on-site and leave the lock or system functioning to the physical details you expect: solid cylinders, forged bolts and fully seated strikes.
