What goes wrong
We handle the kinds of commercial lock problems that turn up in storefronts, offices, warehouses and medical suites. We replace cylinders and whole locks, repair or swap out exit devices and panic bars, retrofit or service electric strikes and maglocks, and install or maintain keypads and access-control panels. We work on mortise locks, cylindrical locks, rim and vertical rod exit hardware, reinforced strikes and heavy door closers. If you’re in New Garden Township and need commercial hardware work, we drive out from Havertown and do the job where the lock is.

What the job involves
Typical failures we see are broken keys left in a cylinder, seized or loose latches, exit devices that stick or won’t latch, door closers that are misadjusted, wiring faults at card readers, and failing keypad buttons. The work usually involves taking the door apart to remove the damaged component, cutting or decoding a cylinder if keys are involved, aligning or replacing strikes, and reconnecting or testing access-control wiring and power. We bring the tools and common replacement parts for commercial hardware so repairs happen on site.

Good to know
While we’re working, keep staff and customers away from the work area and secure any valuables. If the door is a primary entrance, post temporary directions and have someone manage traffic flow until the door operates normally again. If an access-control system is being reprogrammed, a manager or authorized person should be available to confirm access lists or to give consent to change passwords and codes. We’ll tell you what’s needed when we speak so the person in charge can be ready.

Worth knowing
Before we arrive, have the building name and suite or unit number handy, plus a contact who can show us the door and authorize the work. Note the type of door and visible hardware: cylindrical lock, mortise lock, panic bar, electric strike, keypad, proximity reader, and any key or card that still works. If the lock is electronic, make sure power to the reader or strike can be turned on and that someone can access the panel if needed. We travel from Havertown to commercial addresses across Chester County and will get to work where the lock is.
