What goes wrong
We work on the locks and hardware commercial buildings use every day: mortise locks with worn bolts, cylinders with broken keyways, exit devices that don’t latch cleanly, panic bars that stick, door closers letting doors slam or hang, and strikes that have pulled away from the frame. We handle keypad and proximity readers that fail to register badges and master key systems that need rekeying after turnover. We travel from Havertown to jobs in Pennsburg and the surrounding area to get hands on the hardware and see exactly what’s failed.

What the job involves
A typical job starts with a hands-on inspection of the door, frame and hardware so we can describe what needs doing. We take the lock apart, test the cylinder and boltwork, check the strike and the frame for reinforcement needs, and verify the door closer’s mounting and arm geometry. For access control we test the reader, power and wiring before swapping parts or adding a new keypad. We’re prepared to rekey, replace cylinders, fit reinforced strikes, or install a new exit device depending on what the inspection shows.

Good to know
While we’re on the way, secure the area and direct staff to alternate entries if doors are out of service. Keep people back from a door that’s being worked on and make sure any alarm panel or monitoring system is notified if the entrance will be open. Have someone on site who knows who is authorized for keys or badge programming and who can sign off on the work. In Pennsburg especially it helps to have an on-site contact who can confirm ownership or facility responsibility before we start.

Worth knowing
When you call, have the current keys, any master key lists, or the access control credentials handy, plus photos of the door face, frame and hardware if you can take them. Note whether the door is metal, wood or hollow metal, the type of cylinder present, and whether the strike is surface-mounted or reinforced in the frame. We’ll tell you over the phone when we can come out, and we carry common commercial parts so we can usually make repairs or changes on the spot. We also serve nearby towns such as Red Hill if that’s convenient.
