What goes wrong
Commercial locks in offices, shops and light industrial sites fail in a few regular ways. Cylinders seize from rust or broken pins, mortise locks wear the internal cams so the lever won't retract, panic bars bind at the latch or the pull mechanism fractures, and keyways get mangled by wrong keys. We see deadbolts with damaged bolts, strikes pulled loose from repeated use, and electronic keypads that have water damage or failed power supplies. In Upper Frederick Township we fix those specific parts rather than guessing at the symptom.

What the job involves
When we arrive we strip the trim and inspect the boltwork, the strike, the tailpiece and any auxiliary locking parts. If a cylinder is salvageable we rekey it on site; if it’s beyond service we remove and replace the cylinder or the entire lock body with a solid, forged component. We can adjust or replace door closers and realign or reinforce strikes, and we program or troubleshoot access control panels and keypads. Call ahead and we’ll tell you how soon we can come and what we need to know to prepare.
03
Good to know
While you wait, secure the area that the door serves and post a clear temporary route for staff and customers if the primary door is unusable. Keep people off the compromised latch and keep any hands clear of doors being worked on. Have someone available who knows which keys and keycards are in use, who can identify the building manager or the person authorized to sign for lock changes, and who can confirm which doors need master keying or separate keys. In Upper Frederick Township we work around your operations to limit disruption.

Worth knowing
To speed the job, have the door locations ready and any identifying marks on the locks, plus the door construction (hollow metal, wood, or aluminum) and whether there’s a metal or reinforced strike already installed. If you have key blanks, key codes or original cylinders bring that information; if you maintain a lock schedule or keying chart, have it on hand. Be prepared to show authorization for changes and to point out any secondary hardware such as closers, delayed egress, or secondary bolts. We travel from Havertown and carry common commercial parts for work across Upper Frederick Township and nearby New Hanover Township.
