What goes wrong
We work on the locks that keep businesses moving: storefront mortise locks that stick after heavy use, cylindrical levers that torque out, panic bars with worn cams, broken key fragments left in cylinders, and keypads or card readers that stop responding. We travel from Havertown for jobs across Montgomery County, and we see the same problems in Red Hill and nearby towns. When a lock fails on a back door, an office suite, or a loading dock, the immediate issue is usually mechanical wear, a misaligned strike, or an electrical connection that needs testing.

What the job involves
On site we start with a practical inspection: check the bolt engagement, test the door closer and strike alignment, look for ripped screws or a failing spindle, and verify power and wiring for access control. For mechanical fixes we disassemble the cylinder or exit device, replace worn tumblers, or fit a new cylinder and key it to a master system. For electrified hardware we trace the feed, swap relay modules or replace a damaged magnetic lock plate and re-seat contacts if necessary.

Good to know
While we work customers should keep staff and customers away from the door being serviced, secure alternate entrances, and have a manager or authorized person present to approve changes. If an alarm or access-control admin is involved, let that person know we are on site so codes or remote locks aren’t triggered. If a delivery or tenant is affected, move goods and people to a safe place and keep the path to the door clear so we can remove trim, hinges, or the panic device without obstruction.

Worth knowing
Have whatever keys, key tags, old lock cores, and any access-control admin credentials or keypad codes ready; if there’s paperwork for a master key system or a key schedule, bring that too. Photos of the door edge, strike plate, and the lock body are helpful if you can send them ahead. We cut and code keys on site, rekey cores, and fit replacement hardware to the existing door when possible. We drive out from Havertown and work across the county to get commercial entries working again.
