What goes wrong
A jammed deadbolt, a snapped key in a cylinder, or a door that rubs against the jamb are the calls we see most from homes in Lower Oxford Township. We also handle stripped screws on knobs, warped door edges, stuck multipoint locks, mailbox cylinders and older mortise hardware that won’t turn. When a key breaks, the metal often shears across the warding or splays inside the plug; when a bolt won’t extend it’s usually a bent bolt or a worn tailpiece. What the job involves
When we come out we work from the truck, carrying picks, extractor sets, replacement cylinders, tubular lock tools, handheld key cutters and a selection of deadbolts, strikes and reinforcing plates. We start with a visual inspection of the door, frame and hardware, then try non-destructive entry or extraction. If a cylinder swap or rekey is the fix we’ll remove the existing cylinder, pin to your key or fit a new cylinder and test the bolt throw and strike alignment. We drive out from Havertown and bring what’s needed for a typical residential job.

Good to know
While we’re en route it helps if you can secure pets, clear the area around the door and have any existing keys within reach. We will ask to see a form of ID and something that ties you to the address if ownership or tenancy isn’t obvious; that saves back-and-forth at the door. Pointing out any secondary doors, garage entry or alarm controls is useful. Worth knowing

Photographs of the door edge, the strike and the interior hardware are useful if you send them before we arrive.
