What goes wrong
We work on the kinds of residential problems people call about in Lima: keys broken off in knobsets, deadbolts that won’t turn, warped doors that bind against the strike, and electronic locks that have lost their programming or batteries. We take the lock apart where it sits, inspect the cylinder, the tailpiece and the strike plate, and decide whether the core can be extracted and rekeyed or needs replacement. If a key is fractured, we extract the fragment with picks and cutters designed for the job, then cut a new key to match the remaining cuts.

What the job involves
When we arrive we bring the tools and parts a house lock problem usually requires: replacement cylinders, deadbolt sets, longer screws for reinforced strikes, latch-face plates and compatible trim pieces. We drive out from Havertown with those supplies so most common fixes are on the truck. While we work, homeowners should step back from the door and keep pets contained; that keeps the working area clear and prevents sudden noises from ruining delicate picking and reassembly. If there are multiple doors with the same key, mention that up front.

Good to know
If you’re locked out, we ask you to have ready some proof of residence and a brief description of which key you last used and how the problem began. For non-emergencies, having the original lock packaging or the model number from the back of the lock helps us match parts quickly. We’ll show you the damaged components before any replacement and explain whether we can rekey the existing hardware or need to replace the cylinder or whole lockset. We handle knobsets, deadbolts, multipoint locks and many keypad and Bluetooth entry devices.

Worth knowing
For security upgrades we can install a heavier deadbolt with a long throw and a reinforced strike, replace a worn knobset with a solid forged lever, or fit a new electronic lock and program its access codes. We test the latch engagement, check the door alignment and adjust the strike so the bolt rides cleanly into the jamb. If you live in Lima or nearby Middletown Township or Media and want a lock changed to match a single key or to add keyless entry, tell us what you want keyed alike or how you want the access to work and we’ll plan the hardware to match.
