What goes wrong
We handle the kinds of residential failures that actually happen: a deadbolt that won’t retract because the tailpiece is sheared, a knob lock with a worn cam, a latch binding against a warped door, or a mortise lock with broken internal levers. We drive out from Havertown and work where the lock is (there’s no shop counter), so we bring the tools and replacement parts to your door in Edgmont Township. When you call we tell you plainly how soon we can come and what we can do on arrival.

What the job involves
On site we assess the hardware visually and by feel, checking the bolt throw, the strike reinforcement, the screws that hold the jamb and the door’s swing. We mention the type of cylinder, the tailpiece length, whether the deadbolt is solid or hollow, and whether the strike plate is reinforced or needs through-bolting. If a key is broken in the cylinder we pick or extract it, replace the cylinder if the plug is damaged, and cut a new key to match the remaining cuts when possible.

Good to know
If you have a smart lock that lost power or a keypad that won’t accept codes we check battery contacts, wiring to the latch, and whether the motor is seizing. We work with single-cylinder deadbolts, keyed knobs, lever sets, and surface-mounted chain or slide guards. While you wait we suggest you secure occupants in a single room if that feels safer, gather any keys or paperwork for the lock, and point out which door frames and thresholds have had past repairs so we know what to expect.

Worth knowing
For a smooth visit have ready the current keys, any manufacturer paperwork or model numbers, and the name on the lease or deed if the property is managed. We’ll need clear access to the door and a short area to set our case and parts; we bring portable lights and basic replacement hardware for common makes. If you’re in Edgmont Township or nearby (for example, Middletown Township or Willistown Township), we work on-site and leave the lock operating correctly or with a clear plan for any parts we recommend replacing.
