What the job involves
When we arrive from Havertown we bring a van stocked with cylinders, replacement deadbolts, reinforced strikes, long-throw bolts, key blanks, and the tools to rekey, extract, or replace hardware. We take apart the cylinder to inspect pins and springs, measure backset and door thickness, and check the strike alignment. We can rekey a cylinder by changing the pin stack, cut a new key on site from a blank, or fit a reinforced plate and longer screws to stop recurring failures. We explain the repair options before we work.

Good to know
While you wait at home it helps if you can confirm which keys belong to which locks and whether any extras are hidden or stored elsewhere. We ask you to move pets into another room and clear space around the door so we have room to work and place parts on a flat surface. If you have recent invoices or photos of the lock or the door edge, those are useful. We may need a power outlet for a key cutter or an electronic tester; making that available keeps the job smooth.

Worth knowing
For homes in Harleysville and nearby townships such as Franconia Township we handle lock upgrades and security-focused adjustments: replacing short screws with longer ones into the strike, fitting reinforced strike plates, swapping fragile tubular latches for solid deadbolts, or converting a keyed knob to a separate deadbolt. We can fit thumb-turns to the inside, change cylinders for a single-key system, or repair multipoint mechanisms that won’t latch. We discuss the pros and cons of each hardware choice and leave the door functioning and the new keys working before we pack up.
