What goes wrong
Locks fail in a few predictable ways: keys snap in the cylinder, deadbolts bind and won’t turn, latch bolts hang up against a warped jamb, or an exterior keyway becomes corroded until it won’t accept a key. In an emergency call we diagnose what’s actually stuck or broken rather than guessing. Often the problem is a snapped blade or a seized cylinder; sometimes the door hardware needs a new bolt and a reinforced strike. We work on residential and light-commercial hardware in Worcester Township and the surrounding area.

What the job involves
When we arrive we cut or extract broken keys, disassemble cylinders, and open locks with non-destructive techniques where possible. If a lock is beyond repair we remove the old cylinder and fit a replacement or rekey the set so existing keys will or won’t operate other doors, depending on what you want. We can swap deadbolts, replace mortise cylinders, and adjust latches and strikes so the bolt has full travel and the door closes properly. We bring the tools and parts necessary for most emergency jobs.

Good to know
While you wait, clear a path to the door and, if you can, remove any storm door or screen that blocks access. Have photo ID and proof of residency or ownership ready for the door or vehicle involved; we verify that we’re servicing the right property before we begin work. If you have spare keys, wallets, or a key fob, keep them separated so we can test new hardware. If the key broke off, bring the remaining pieces or show where it sheared so we can plan extraction or replacement.

Worth knowing
We drive out from Havertown to Worcester Township and nearby townships when called, and we’ll tell you how soon we can come when you call. In the meantime think about what outcome you prefer: extraction and repair, rekeying to match your existing keys, or replacement with a new keyed cylinder or deadbolt. For vehicles we handle trunk and door cylinders and many common ignition issues; for homes we work on knobs, levers, mortise and rim cylinders, plus reinforcing strikes and adjusting latches so the hardware will operate smoothly.
