What goes wrong
We handle emergency lock problems that show up in homes and small businesses across West Marlborough Township and the surrounding area. Typical calls are for a key that has broken inside a deadbolt, a latch that has sheared off against a reinforced strike, or a door that will not move because the bolt is misaligned. We also deal with jammed mortise locks, padlocks on gates, and mailbox or interior office cores that refuse to turn. When a lock fails under stress it can damage the door edge and hardware; we look for that damage first.

What the job involves
When we arrive we size up the mechanism and pick the method that causes the least new damage. That may mean extracting a broken key, rekeying a cylinder on site, changing a thumbturn, or swapping in a new cylinder and keys. We carry cylinders, a selection of deadbolt bolts with long throws, reinforced strikes, and replacement cores so we can finish many jobs without a second visit. For vehicles we can extract a snapped ignition or cut a new mechanical key and, where applicable, program a transponder.

Good to know
While you wait, the most useful things you can do are clear the work area, open an adjacent window or interior door if that helps access, and have identification and proof of ownership ready for us to inspect. For a car that usually means registration and a key fob or a second key if one exists; for a house, a recent utility bill or deed works. With a child or a pet locked in the car, phone 911 first, then us.

Worth knowing
To reduce future emergencies, we recommend keeping bolts and hinges lubricated and replacing worn strikes or thin faceplates with forged or reinforced options. We can fit a longer throw deadbolt or a hardened strike to reduce levering damage, replace a rounded cylinder with one that takes a full cut key, and advise on weatherstripping that won’t bind the bolt. We drive out from Havertown and serve the Chester County area including nearby London Grove Township and Londonderry Township when residents need a mobile response.
