What goes wrong
Cars lock themselves in a few predictable ways: keys left on the seat, a trunk that jams, a frozen power door that fails to respond or a snapped key stuck in the ignition. We handle metal keys and laminated fobs, emergency mechanical openings and diagnosis of why an electronic release didn’t work. On vehicles with manual locks we use long-reach tools or wedge-assisted access; on cars with shielded latch housings we pick the lock or remove the interior panel to reach the mechanism without forcing the frame.

What the job involves
If a key breaks in the ignition or door lock we extract the broken blade, inspect the core, and decide whether a new key should be cut on site or the cylinder should be replaced. For transponder keys and remote fobs we test for battery and signal faults, and we can cut and program replacement blades to match existing transponder chips when the vehicle accepts that process. We carry blanks and programming tools suitable for common makes and can often get a working key without towing the car.

Good to know
While we work, keep the vehicle registration or title and a photo ID accessible so we can verify ownership and avoid unnecessary delays. If you know the vehicle identification number or have the remote’s serial code, read that down for us; it helps with key cutting and programming. When a child or a pet is shut inside the vehicle, dial 911 first. We drive out from Havertown and bring the tooling needed to diagnose common mechanical and electronic failures on site.

Worth knowing
In West Marlborough Township we see the usual mix of commuter cars, SUVs and older pickups, and we tailor our approach to the specific lock hardware rather than a one-size method. If a door shows a reinforced striker or a long-throw latch we avoid prying on the jamb and work the latch directly. We tell you over the phone when we can come and then get to work on the mechanism you have, not a hypothetical model. We cover calls in West Marlborough Township and adjacent places like London Grove Township or Londonderry Township when requested.
