What goes wrong

What the job involves
When a lock is sticking or a bolt won’t seat, the work can involve removing the trim, checking the bolt and strike alignment, and replacing any bent or broken parts such as a worn spindle or a warped latch. We carry common cylinder sizes, a selection of hardened screws and heavy-duty strikes, and replacement handlesets and deadbolts for on-site swaps. If an electronic lock is dead, we check battery contacts and wiring and can bypass the latch to let you in without harming the unit; we explain each step before we start.

While you’re waiting, the safest thing is to stay where you can see the door and have identification ready that shows you have access rights: a driver’s license, a lease, keys from the same address, or paperwork for the property. If possible, move any pets away from the work area and clear the threshold so we can set out our tools or lay out parts without blocking your entry.
