What goes wrong
Locks fail in a few predictable ways: a key snaps in a poorly cut cylinder, a deadbolt jams on a swollen edge, an electronic keypad loses power or corrupts its memory, or a latch breaks out where the strike meets the jamb. In Marcus Hook we see all of these and the fallout is the same; you can’t get in or you can’t secure the place. We drive out from Havertown with tools and common replacement parts and start by isolating the failure so we know whether the work is an entry, a repair, or a replacement.

What the job involves
An emergency job usually begins with a quick inspection to identify what part of the lock is at fault. We try non-destructive entry first: tension and pick a cylinder, remove a trim plate, or work the latch. If the cylinder is shattered or the key is mashed we may remove and replace the core, fit a new cylinder, or install a reinforced strike and longer screws to fix the hardware. For electronic locks we check power and wiring, swap the control module or replace batteries and keypad guts when necessary. We carry blanks, cores, and common electrified modules so we can often complete the repair on site.

Good to know
While you wait, stay somewhere safe and off the door, standing behind a locked building or wedging the door can cause more damage. If you have a spare key, tell us where it is and whether it’s current; if not, check closets or vehicles only if you can do so without forcing anything. Keep children and pets out of the immediate work area and clear a small space by the door so we can lay out tools. If the problem is a vehicle lockout, have the registration and a photo ID ready to show ownership.

Worth knowing
Have whatever paperwork and items that prove you own or are authorized to access the property ready: a photo ID for people, and for cars a registration or title when possible. Bring any broken key pieces, old cylinders, or the existing keypad module if you’ve removed it; a picture of the lock or the door edge can speed identification. We stock common cylinders, keys, key blanks, keypad parts and strike plates and can install them on site. When you call, we’ll explain what we can do and how soon we can get there.
