What goes wrong
We handle the calls when a key snaps in a cylinder, a deadbolt jams with a bent throw, a latch keeps hanging on a warped door edge, or an electronic keypad won’t power up. In Hatboro we see a lot of mechanical problems (worn pins, hardened mortise faces, and stripped screw heads that prevent normal operation), and we also open cars with broken keys or frozen trunk latches. We travel from Havertown in a van stocked with extraction tools, replacement cylinders, long-throw deadbolts, and keypad batteries so we can get straight to the hardware that needs attention.

What the job involves
When we get called for an emergency lockout the job often begins with a quick inspection of the lock and surrounding frame to decide whether to pick, extract, repair, or replace. We use picks and plug spinners for serviceable cylinders, extraction tools for broken key fragments, and rekey fixtures when cores are removed. If a door has a reinforced strike that’s split or screws pulled out we replace the strike and use longer fasteners into solid wood or jamb reinforcement. For electronic locks we check battery contacts and the control board before replacing components.

Good to know
While you wait there are practical things that make the work faster and cleaner. Have a photo ID and some proof that you live or own the property; if keys exist, put any duplicates by the door. Clear the area around the latch so we can set up lights and lay out parts, and if it’s a vehicle move any passengers to the sidewalk for safety. If the lock is an electronic unit, unplug or remove nearby power panels only if you know how; otherwise leave power handling to us so we avoid spiking or shorting the system.

Worth knowing
If you’re unsure which lock you have, tell us the material and what part is failing (cylinder, thumbturn, keypad, latch, or strike) and whether the door is metal, wood, or fiberglass. We tell you honestly how soon we can come and bring the tools and parts that match the hardware on hand. In Hatboro and nearby places such as Willow Grove or Upper Moreland Township we focus on fixing the problem on site: extracting broken keys, repairing stripped gears, swapping out cylinders, or installing a new keyed section so the door works the way it should.
