What goes wrong
Keys break off in cylinders, deadbolts get forced, and electronic keypads lose power or forget codes; those are the calls we handle as emergency locksmiths. We drive out from Havertown and work on whatever failed at the door: cylinder replacement, extracting broken keys, rekeying pin stacks, swapping out damaged thumbturns, or repairing a latch and strike that no longer line up. When the mechanism is pinned or the tailpiece is damaged, we open the door in ways that preserve the hardware when possible and replace parts that won’t hold up to normal use.

What the job involves
If an electronic lock is the problem we check the battery and power contacts first, then the controller and the actuator. For mechanical deadbolts we inspect the bolt, the long throw, and the reinforced strike to determine whether the bolt body or the strike has taken the shock. On doors with multipoint hardware we examine each bolt and the linkage so a single failure doesn’t let the door sag later. We carry common cylinders, replacement bolts, and a selection of keyed cores so we can match what’s already on the door or move to a more durable option.

Good to know
While we work, customers should step to a safe spot away from the door and keep any pets secured. If the door is to a living space turn off HVAC or the furnace if opening the door will let construction dust in; if it’s a commercial storefront leave the alarm disarmed or tell us the code so we can avoid tripping it. Having a photo of the keyway, the face of the lock, or the keypad helps us prepare before we get started, and having proof of ownership or tenancy ready avoids delays when we change cylinders or hand over new keys for a lock in Folsom.

Worth knowing
When we need to rekey or replace a lock we explain the physical result: either new pins arranged to match your current key, a new cylinder with a different keyway, or a different bolt assembly that resists repeated forcing. We cut keys on site and operate the new hardware to show you how it works. If multiple doors need matching keys we pin them to a common key in the same visit when possible. We serve Folsom and nearby areas such as Ridley Park, and we focus on leaving the door secure and the mechanism working the way it should.
