What goes wrong
Lock issues that prompt emergency calls are usually plain mechanical failures: a folded or snapped key trapped in a cylinder, a deadbolt that won’t turn because the door has shifted, a jammed latch after a hard slam, or a lever set that spins without engaging the bolt. We handle house and business lockouts in Concord Township and nearby areas from our mobile van based in Havertown. We see standard pin-tumblers, tubular cylinders, mortise locks, and padlocks, and we treat each problem by looking at the actual metal, springs, and cams rather than guessing.

What the job involves
When we arrive we first inspect the lock and the surrounding door hardware to decide whether entry can be made without cutting or drilling. We prefer to try non-destructive methods such as targeted picking or extracting a broken key, but we bring cutters, replacement cylinders, and reinforcing plates for when parts are damaged beyond repair. We commonly replace a ruined cylinder, fit a new deadbolt with a long-throw bolt, or install a reinforced strike to restore secure operation. We drive out from Havertown with tools and common parts to finish the repair on site.

Good to know
While you wait, make safety and access the priority: stay off a busy sidewalk, keep children and pets away from the door, and have a phone handy. Have photo ID and a document showing you have right of entry ready to show. If you can, move obstacles like bikes or planters away from the door and unlock any gates that lead to it. We’ll tell you when we can come after you call, and that helps decide whether to wait at the door or move to a safer nearby location until we arrive.

Worth knowing
To speed the job, have any spare keys, previous lock receipts, or photos of the lock and door frame ready. Note whether the lock is a rim cylinder, mortise case, or a knob/lever with an integrated latch, and whether the strike plate is visibly bent or loose. For vehicle lockouts bring registration and proof of ownership and tell us if an alarm or steering interlock is active. We work on the metal and mechanics in front of you, replacing or repairing the worn parts so the lock works reliably again in Concord Township and surrounding townships like Thornbury Township when that’s needed.
