What goes wrong
People call us when a door will not open, a key breaks off in a cylinder, a deadbolt sticks, or an electronic keypad stops responding. We diagnose the failure on the spot: check the cylinder, the bolt throw, the strike plate alignment, and any visible door warping. If a key snapped, we extract the fragment and inspect the shear line; if a lock is seized we disassemble the cylinder and look for corrosion or bent parts. We work on residential and light commercial hardware in Ardmore and nearby Bryn Mawr.

What the job involves
When we arrive we bring a range of replacement cylinders, deadbolts, lever handles, smart lock modules, and the specialized tools to remove broken keys and to rekey or pin new cores. We can change out a mortise lock or swap a rim cylinder, install a reinforced strike or adjust a latch. We also cut keys on site for common keyways and program many keypad or Bluetooth modules. We drive out from Havertown with the equipment needed to finish most emergency jobs right where the lock is.

Good to know
While you wait, make the door accessible and clear the immediate area so we can work safely. If the lock is on an exterior entry, shut other doors so you can secure the property once the work is done. Have some form of identification that matches the address ready; for apartments, have a lease or building key card available. If you have a key that partially works, bring it with you when you can. We will explain what we find and what parts are required before we proceed.

Worth knowing
Typical emergency fixes include extracting broken keys, rekeying cylinders, replacing seized deadbolts, and bypassing failed latch mechanisms without damaging the door. For electronic entries we check power sources and wiring, replace worn batteries, and, when needed, swap the module and transfer user codes. We describe the hardware we install in plain terms: solid brass cylinders, forged steel deadbolts, long-throw bolts, and reinforced strikes. If there’s anything particular about your door or frame, tell us when you call so we bring the right parts from Havertown.
